Our cause at I Am Beautiful Women’s Foundation “Parade of Ribbons”, is to unify our efforts with the efforts of others to bring awareness of the many diseases that women and young girls suffer with and provide a support system which do not discriminate based on the type of disease the individual is suffering with.
Our immediate goal is to assist women and young girls who suffer severe hair loss as a result of these many diseases. Most insurance companies consider this assistance as a cosmetic procedure and refuse to offer coverage. As we all understand hair recovery connected to any medical condition is far from a cosmetic procedure for women.
We have now extended our goals to include all other assistance needed for women and young girls who suffer severe hair loss. We have a network of services which include things like, counseling, medical advice, motivational workshop, family assistance, and more…
Our “Parade of Ribbons” events are designed to bring together supporters of all diseases and make them aware of the commonality of their causes, unify their efforts and bring notice to the community and local businesses that support for certain diseases shouldn’t began and end on the first and last day of a designated month for that particular disease.

The Parade of Ribbons, also known as “America’s Celebration of Life” held in Atlanta GA (or any other city wishing to support), each year in September to celebrate survivors of many diseases and carry the camaraderie, inspiration and goodwill developed across America from this parade well into the holidays season. The parade will include beautifully decorated motorized floats from each organization that advocate and support certain diseases such as The American Cancer Society, Lupus Foundation, Susan Komen, etc…, actual survivors ridding and walking along side floats, marching bands from local colleges and high schools, community support groups and equestrian units. It is produced by the nonprofit I Am Beautiful Women’s Foundation Corp.
Media Coverage: Parade of Ribbons will be watched in person by thousands of spectators on the parade route, and will be broadcast on multiple television networks and multi-media live streams in the United States. It will be seen in the future by millions more on television worldwide in more than 100 international territories and countries.
Date for Event: The 1st edition of the annual Parade of Ribbons, 2020 presented by I Am Beautiful Women’s Foundation will take place September 26, 2020 at 10am Eastern Time in Atlanta Georgia’s Old Fourth Ward Park across from Ponce City Market, with a theme of “America’s Celebration of Life “.
Royal Court: The 2020 grand marshal will be _______________________. Each year, a selection process will be held in late August and early September to find out which I Am Beautiful Women’s Foundation member will have the honor of being crowned Queen of the Parade of Ribbons, or one of the members of her “Royal Court”. Each year we expect more than 1000 women and young girls to try out. Six princesses and one queen will be chosen. The winners then ride on a float in the parade, and carry out duties in promotion of the next Parade of Ribbons, mainly during its duration and prelude.

The meaning of Awareness Ribbons are based on their color or color combination. Many illnesses and causes use the awareness ribbon as their symbols of support or awareness, so there is often more than one cause for each color ribbon. Also, several causes may use an alternate color of ribbon, so the cause may appear in multiple listings.
Most commonly associated with breast cancer awareness, the pink awareness ribbon is also a symbol for birth parents, and childhood cancer awareness (alternative color: light blue)
We’ve all seen the yellow awareness ribbon used as a symbol to show support for our troops, but it is also a symbol for MIA/POW, suicide prevention, adoptive parents, amber alerts, bladder cancer, spina bifida, endometriosis, and a general symbol for hope. A yellow ribbon with a heart is used to represent the survivors left behind after a suicide.
The light yellow awareness ribbon is a symbol of spina bifida.
Most commonly associated with the fight against AIDS and HIV, the red awareness ribbon is also a symbol for heart disease, stroke, substance abuse, MADD, DARE, Epidermolysis Bullosa, and Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy.
The burgundy awareness ribbon is a symbol of brain aneurysm, Cesarean section (worn upside down), headaches, hemangioma, vascular malformation, hospice care, multiple myeloma, William’s syndrome, Thrombophilia, Antiphospholid Antibody Syndrome, and adults with disabilities.
The purple awareness ribbon is a symbol of pancreatic cancer, testicular cancer, thyroid cancer, domestic violence, ADD, Alzheimer’s, religious tolerance, animal abuse, the victims of 9/11 including the police and firefighters, Crohn’s disease and colitis, cystic fibrosis, lupus, leimyosarcoma, and fibromyalgia.
The lavender awareness ribbon is a symbol for general cancer awareness. It can also be a symbol for epilepsy and Rett syndrome.
The periwinkle awareness ribbon is a symbol of eating disorders and pulmonary hypertension.
The blue awareness ribbon is a symbol of drunk driving, child abuse, Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), the victims of hurricane Katrina, dystonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), alopecia, Education, Epstein-Barr Virus, Save the Music, colon cancer (alternative ribbon color: brown), colorectal cancer (alternative ribbon color: brown), anti-tobacco – particularly anti-second hand smoke (in Canada; alternative ribbon color: brown), and I Love Clean Air/ILCA Campaign (Japan).
The dark blue awareness ribbon represents arthritis, child abuse prevention, victim’s rights, free speech, water quality, and water safety.
The light blue awareness ribbon is a symbol of childhood cancer (alternative color: pink), prostate cancer, Trisomy 18, and scleroderma.
The teal awareness ribbon is a symbol for ovarian, cervical, and uterine cancers as well as sexual assault, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and tsunami victims.
The green awareness ribbon is a symbol of childhood depression, missing children, open records for adoptees, environmental concerns, kidney cancer, tissue/organ donation, homeopathy, and worker and driving safety.
